Jill Freeman and “Prince” will be waiting for you at the Warren County Rockwell Street Train Stop in Hadley to go for a COMPLIMENTARY Handsome Carriage Ride over to Lake Luzerne and back (4-6 passengers) each Saturday from July 17th to August 21.

Rides will run continuous all day according to the Upper Hudson River Railroad’s Summer Schedule. Passengers will cross over the Rockwell Street Bridge of Hope into Lake Luzerne and follow the Hudson River north along the main street’s historic district. This tour is also a very popular walking tour and can be experienced by foot in less than 2 hours giving you a chance to stop on the Bridge to:

*Take unique photos of the Rockwell Falls on the north-side and the meeting of the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers on the south-side.

*Visit Lynn Benevento’s Art Gallery and she awaits your arrival.

*Moving along you’ll venture on to the H-L Public Library which has a wonderful and peaceful backyard for your reading pleasure and inside there is a stunning all glass resource and meeting room over looking the river,

*Next comes the Rockwell-Harmon House Visitors Center for local tourism information, old time photo display exhibits. (Public Restrooms Available Here).

*Behind the Visitors Center stretches a wonderful and peaceful park where 12 multi colored Adirondack Chairs wait for you.
This space belongs to the Town of Lake Luzerne and is best known for great picture taking, recreational, educational and a great resting area.

*The Adirondack Folk School and Gift Shop is open and the Learning for Joy Programs available.

*Carner Tannery Smokestack has lots of stories to tell as you will now have entered the Leatherworks and Tannery District.

*As you climb a small graded slope along the highway in one block you’ll reach Lake Luzerne, view Ivy Isle and have a chance for a swim and picnic lunch with Madeline at the Wayside Beach or Pavilion Park.

*Now well rested, you will follow along Route 9N south( All good sidewalks) to the next corner and begin to see our Victorian homes and churches as you wind back down the hill and across the River back to the Station Stop.
